Restoration Projects
This dilapidated cut down antique Windsor chair was brought to me recently for restoration. ![]() |

Note the loose broken and missing sticks and arm support. |
The seat at this point although badly cracked has already had four coats of oil to feed the wood. ![]() |
Note the cut down legs and broken stretcher. ![]() |
Now looking like a chair again final trial fit before gluing up. ![]() |
New front legs turned and fitted with profile at foot. ![]() |
New back legs turned plain as originals and fitted. ![]() |
New stretcher to original pattern turned and fitted. ![]() |
New arm stump steamed and bent to shape and fitted along with new side sticks. ![]() |
Seat has now had ten coats of oil and is beginning to show some true colour. ![]() |
Arm bow and back bow now married up and fitting together again with a couple of new back sticks to replace ones that had broken. ![]() |
The end product glued up and polished ready to be returned to the customer. ![]() |
