Judges Comments.

"The judges were greatly impressed by the newly made set of dining room chairs of the wheelback style, which they were shown during their tour of the new and altered accommodation at Warnham Park and had been made specifically for that project. They were informed that the chairs were commissioned from someone who made furniture as a hobby. The oak of which they are made came from a tree that had to be felled as part of the re-planning of the approach to the house.

It is understood that the craftsman has now become a professional furniture maker. The judges, appreciated that the furniture was not specifically entered for consideration and that it was not part of the building as entered. However they consider that it is a very high quality contribution to the overall scheme of alterations and recommended it for an Award"
